Operation Empower Mentorship Programme

Target

The Mentorship Programme targets to support youth from ethnic minority groups in Hong Kong, primarily Nepalese.

Aims & Objectives

The Mentorship Programme under Operation Empower is a two-year 1:1 program me which aims to empower the school-aged ethnic minority youth in HK, with the support of and through interaction with mentors, so that the young people are able to answer these questions for themselves:

Who am I?

They can identify their talents and interests, and realize their potential.

What will I do in the Future?

They can find their future path and see the possibilities.

How do I get there?

They can develop necessary skills and identify pathways leading to their dream career.

Participants

Mentors

Mentors are recruited from a range of professional backgrounds. They provide real-life examples and inspiration about the importance to set career goals, and develop soft skills and strategies to reach their goals. Over the period of two years, with the development of bonding between the mentor and the mentee, mentors become trusted adults who show interest in the mentees and treat them with respect.

Mentees

Eligible mentees must be Hong Kong residents from ethnic minority groups in Hong Kong, primarily Nepalese, and recipients of the Operation Empower Scholarship. They must be willing to learn and make an effort to grow and develop.
