Operation Empower Mentorship Programme
Target
The Mentorship Programme targets to support youth from ethnic minority groups in Hong Kong, primarily Nepalese.
Aims & Objectives
The Mentorship Programme under Operation Empower is a two-year 1:1 program me which aims to empower the school-aged ethnic minority youth in HK, with the support of and through interaction with mentors, so that the young people are able to answer these questions for themselves:
Who am I?
They can identify their talents and interests, and realize their potential.
What will I do in the Future?
They can find their future path and see the possibilities.
How do I get there?
They can develop necessary skills and identify pathways leading to their dream career.
Participants
Mentors
Mentors are recruited from a range of professional backgrounds. They provide real-life examples and inspiration about the importance to set career goals, and develop soft skills and strategies to reach their goals. Over the period of two years, with the development of bonding between the mentor and the mentee, mentors become trusted adults who show interest in the mentees and treat them with respect.
Mentors’ commitments include:
- serving as a mentor for at least one year
- Attending Mentoring Training
- Meeting Their Mentee Face-To-Face For At Least Four Times Per Year
- Ongoing Informal ‘Check-Ins’ With Their Mentee.
Become a Mentor!
